What is smart liposuction?

How does smart liposuction treatment work?

Dr. Henry performs smart liposuction treatment on-site as an outpatient procedure. Before starting treatment, Dr. Henry administers a local anesthetic to numb the area of your body being treated. Once the anesthesia sets in, she makes a small incision near a pocket of body fat and carefully inserts a thin tube called a cannula through it. Inside the cannula is a special laser. The laser heats up and melts the localized fat deposits. After the fat melts, it’s absorbed by your body and processed through your lymphatic system.

Is smart liposuction treatment safe?

Smart liposuction is safe and well-tolerated, but it does present certain risks. The most common side effects people experience are bruising, swelling, scarring, and infection. To lower your risk of these and other complications, make sure to follow Dr. Henry’s recovery instructions carefully. This means taking your medications as prescribed, getting plenty of rest, and attending all of your follow-up appointments.
